We bought a starter set for my son. His reaction? Meh.

I think there aren’t enough flashing lights and sound effects. I tried making pew, pew noises for him, but it didn’t stoke his enthusiasm.

My daughter, being a bit older, was a little more enthusiastic. That;s when the possessive gene kicked in and her little brother took all his toys back. No enjoyment for you!

I can relate; over the last couple years I’ve spent mumble mumble on 3d printed pieces to customize my Transformers, then started on Star Wars ships.
